The making of a 'Herman Planet with a Wormhole' hand made marble.
This is one of the most important tools of the glassworker, his chair. Notice
the flat extended arms, they are made of iron. As he works Herman will lay the pontil
across the arms and keep it constantly rolling back and forth so the molton glass
does not get off center as he shapes it. Behind the chair on the left is a large
round annealer which will slowly cool the glass over a number of hours. Bags of frit
and chemicals can be seen on the shelves, these are used to add color to the glass.
